Individual
I try to ensure that financial cost isn’t a deciding factor on trying therapy. The standard fee for a 50-minute individual therapy session is $240.
I am able to offer sliding-scale fees depending on circumstance, so I encourage you to bring this to your session, whether it is your first, 15th, or 40th session.
Group
The standard fee for group psychotherapy is $80 per week. In this style of therapy, you “pay for a seat”, meaning you are charged even if you can’t attend, as you become an irreplaceable part of the group. Changes to this will be discussed in the group, including any sliding scales.
Medicare and Rebates
Medicare rebates for both individual and group psychotherapy are available with a valid Mental Health Care Plan from a GP. These are valid for a total of 10 sessions, after the 6th session a letter including a brief progress report will be sent to your GP as part of your treatment. After the 6th session, you will be required to return to your GP for a re-referral. Rebate amounts can be found on the Medicare website. You are able to claim 10 sessions of rebates for both individual and group psychotherapy.
Individual psychotherapy sessions are available to be done over telehealth and also receive Medicare rebates, if applicable. If you live outside of the area, interstate, or internationally, we can discuss how this may work.
Private health insurance rebates may be available, please refer to your provider for further information.
I see a small number of individuals under Work Cover.
I do not see patients under DVA or NDIS referrals, although you may be eligible for support under a self-managed NDIS package.
